Prison graffiti in Castle Rushen

Castle Rushen began to deteriorate in the 1700s and was used as a prison at various times from the 1700s to 1891. Although the authorities have repaired and renovated the castle for tourism, they’ve saved some of the graffiti that prisoners scratched into their cells. One of those prisoners was a Faragher… he was probably innocent and didn’t deserve to be locked up. (Knowing how honest our family is, I can never believe any Faragher would commit a crime!)
