In Canada we understand why brochures and signs all appear in two different languages. Some of our fellow tourists were confused and when it was explained to them, they felt it was a waste of money to repeat information this way.
In Ireland, as in Canada, there are two official languages and kids all take Gaelic lessons in school until their teen years. Some people continue speaking Gaelic for the rest of their lives, but many don’t.
